• Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

  So you’ve decided to move forward with a breast lift or breast augmentation. The next step is perhaps the most important – choosing the right surgeon!

  You will make many decisions over the course of your plastic surgery operation. The most important of these decisions is choosing the right plastic surgeon. Finding a reputable surgeon you also trust and shares your vision of results is key.

  If your located in the United States there is an organization (ASPS – American Society of plastic surgeons)  that will make the choice of surgeon that much easier. All regions around the world have similar organizations similar to ASPS. Contacting your local plastic surgeons association ensures your success for the reasons outlined below.

  

  Selecting a surgeon recognized by an association such as an ASPS Member Surgeon ensures that you have selected a plastic surgeon who:

  • Has successfully completed five years of surgical training with a minimum of two years specializing in plastic surgery.
  • Is proficient and experienced in all aspects of plastic surgery procedures, including breast lifts, body (tummy tucks), face and reconstruction procedures.
  • Operates in fully accredited medical facilities.
  • Follows a strict code of ethics.
  • Undergoes continued medical education to stay current with evolving procedures, including innovations in patient safety.
  • Is fully certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery or in the case of Canada based plastic surgeons the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

  ASPS Member Surgeons should be your first contact point in your cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery journey.

  Remember to explicitly check your surgeons accreditations. Picture frames of awards hanging on a wall is not sufficient. Ask the surgeon for a copy of their acreditation and remeber to look for a ASPS Member Surgeon logo.
